A stitch in time. . . Block 16 of the circa 1931 Friendship Quilt in the Museum of the Itawamba County Historical Society

GRAHAM, Inez, Block 16

Inez Graham was the daughter of Lafayette C. Graham and Maude Graham, farmers of Beat 1, Itawamba County, who lived on Highway 25.


The 1930 census of the Graham family includes Lafayette C. Graham, 62, wife Maud Graham, 56, daughter Iness Graham, 18, daughter Loraine Maxcy, 29, granddaughter Mary L. Maxcy, 10, granddaughter Mildred L. Maxcy, 8, and a lodger, Eric C. Poole, 33, who was a tractor driver for road work.

MAXCY, LeNell, Block 16. Surname provided by IHS Librarian Marilyn Leary.

LeNell Maxcy is the daughter of Loraine Maxcy. She is either Mary LeNell or Mildred LeNell --- and is enumerated on the 1930 census in the household of her grandparents Lafayette C. Graham and Maude Graham. In 1930 LeNell was either 8 or 10 years old.

MAXCY, Loraine, Block 16

On the 1920 census Loraine Maxcy is indexed as Loraine Maxey, 19, wife of farmer Kerb L. Maxey of the Bounds Crossroads community of Itawamba County.


On the 1930 census Loraine Maxcy, 29, is listed as the daughter of Lafayette C. Graham and Maud Graham of Beat 1, Highway 25. With Loraine are listed Mary L. Maxcy and Mildred L. Maxcy.

No other information was found on Loraine but the SSI Death Index lists Kirby Maxcy born December 29, 1887, whose place was last residence was Tremont. He died in November 1972.

Louise Maxcy is the daughter of Loraine Maxcy. She is either Mary Louise or Mildred Louise --- and is enumerated on the 1930 census in the household of her grandparents Lafayette C. Graham and Maude Graham. In 1930 Louise was either 8 or 10 years old.
