The philosophy of epicureanism is based upon the teaching of Epicurus. His advice on how to live the happiest possible life is summed up in these four short lines of poetry called Tetrapharmakos, "The Four-Part Cure" ---

Don't fear god,
Don't worry about death:
What is good is easy to get, and
What is terrible is easy to endure.

Attributed to Philodermus of Herculaneum, a student of Epicurus.
